SVET – The Health-Friendly Light Bulb!
Lucid Co-Founder Aaron has spent the last few days in the midst of the Rise Hong Kong, one of the world’s largest start-up conferences. It was only a year ago, in the very early days of Lucid that we were there getting inspired by bio-hacker extraordinaire Teemu Arina’s tips on how to upgrade our workday.

SVET is a light bulb that mimics natural light throughout the day, helping keep you more comfortable and your biological clock in check. It does this by closely replicating natural light properties based on time of day and seasons which in turn maintains your circadian rhythm, improving your physical & mental health. In fact, (and this is our favourite bit), recent studies show that tailoring artificial light to a body’s natural rhythm like this actually improves daily focus and boosts productivity when outside of the home & at work!

The light bulbs are available for pre-order for $70 which is apparently 30% less than their eventual retail price of $100. At that cost it is a little challenging to envision furnishing my entire house but I’m willing to buy one or two and place them in the important rooms (home office & bedroom) to see if they make a difference.
